Post by John Bird » Mon Sep 17, 2007 5:00 am

Hi

I am trying to find out more about William Sawers and Maragret Matson.

William was bn/chr in St Ninians Stirlingshire on 7 June 1730 and Margaret bn/chr on 24/10/1731 at same place. They married circa 1755at St Ninians stirlingshire . I would like to find out actual date of marriage and who their parents were.

I would appreciate any assistance.

regards

Hi John,

The births of both are on the online IGI, showing both sets of parents. These are both extracted from the records, so you should be able to view these documents on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for a small fee.

The online IGI can be found at:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... _form=true

A parent search on the online IGI shows 6 children born to this couple between 1762 and 1769. Four of these are extracted from the records. The other two are submitted entries, so would be tougher to verify. One of these submissions appears to be a repeat of one of the extracted ones, with a change of spelling. There is no sign of the parents' marriage on the online IGI.

All the best,

AndrewP
