Hi all,especially Mary; You see I really am cracking up I should have said,I am still looking for MALCOLM Macleod named on Marriage and Death cert as Father of Alexander.As I see it the only hope I might have had would be on any Parish records were they available

On my gggrandfather's birth cert he was the illegitimate son of Jane Cook. On his marriage cert he gives his mother as Jane Cook and father William Cook.
I know from my research that was not true. His father was probably William but his surname certainly wasn't Cook.
The kirk sessions are probably your best bet to confirm, or not, his father's name.
