hello
Any info on Young family from West Lothion my husband family come from Bathgate area and Ireland. All we know is Mary Aladyce Young married John Burnside round about 1900? any info on any youngs in the area.

Hi Xenia,

Sorry I don't have any information on your family. If you haven't already done so, and they married in Scotland, have a look on ScotlandsPeople (link at top of this page) for their marriage certificate. That would give you information about themselves and both sets of parents and maybe even a couple of relatives as witnesses. There is a small cost involved but very reasonable for what you get.

Hi Xenia,

I think that we may be connected as Mary Allardice Young and John Burnside were my great grandparents. They married in 1902 in Uphall, West Lothian (although it was called the County of Linlithgow at the time!)

I see you are in Kent - I know that some of the family went South, as my parents spent their honeymoon in Dartford - how is your husband connected to Mary and John?

my Husband mother was Sarah Nicholls (maiden name Braddon) she was born in Whitburn. Her mother was Sarah (maiden name Burnside) and her mother was Mary Aladyce young she married John Burnside.
