What is a Heckler?

Post by KateW » Mon Oct 01, 2007 8:28 pm

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what a Heckler did? I think it may be connected to the yarn trade as the young ladies who had this occupation in 1861 in Aberdeen, were daughters of a 'winder of yarn' and a Dyer.

Thanks,
KateW

Thanks,
There are some interesting job titles. At least they weren't strippers or hookers :!: :!:

Hi Kate

If theworkers were described by the tools they used for the job 'stripper' or 'hooker' would have applied quite well. :D :D
