Hi,
I would like to know the date and place of marriage of John Cordiner (born 1801 St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh ) and his wife Catherine Smith ( born 1796 St. Cuthberts)They were the parents of James Farquarson Cordiner born 1829, Midlothian.

JOHN CORDINER - Birth: 16 FEB 1823 Saint Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
It may be worth a look on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk at the OPRs for these two. The wording of these may give a clue to the marital status of the parents. It is common to see children as lawfully born or naturally born - meaning legitimate or illegitimate respectively.
No sign of the marriage on the online IGI.
