Hey all, sorry for my long absence but life is pretty busy at the moment.
I have noticed that many of the shops I have been into have stopped selling the metal pinned poppies instead they have plastic alternatives which in my opinion are a bit useless for wearing unless you wear it with a shirt and even then it has to be in a button hole.
I fully support the buying of poppies and I have bought one nearly every year but after doing research into my Great Great Uncles, their brother - my great Grandfather and their uncle and finding out they all died as a result of the Great War I have become more knowledgeable of their sacrifice.
What I am wanting to know is where to buy a metal pinned poppy so that i can wear it properly?

They have stopped making the metal pinned poppies at Edinburgh's Earl Haig Poppy Factory. Liability for health and safety issues prompted the move, as well as cost reduction.
See http://www.poppyscotland.org.uk/docs/Me ... 051007.pdf for a press release on the subject.
All the best,

I did manage to get a plastic one but its kind of useless especially with a shirt.

Surely it's a personal choice if you want to display a poppy avatar or not?
Any what about the white poppy, which is becoming ever more popular as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives and a symbol for future peace throughout the world.
After all those who died did so that we could live in peace.
