Richard Cowie

Is there anyone out there who can help me find the name of the parents of
Richard Cowie. He was born around about 1815 and died about 1886, he married Mary Ann Hay in 1841. I seem to have hit a brick wall at this stage.

Have you tried searching for his death on Scotlands People?
A quick search brings up 1 result in New Monkland in 1886. This should give you his parents names.

Paula's suggestion is a good one. Have you checked for his birth, marriage and death on Scotland's People (link at top of page). Using the free search I see that there is a Richard Cowie born in 1814 in Coatbridge, Lanark. Seems worth a check if you haven't already.
