Hi Cathy,

Didn't find a First Street, but google brings this up for 17 First Ave.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=First+Str ... a=N&tab=wl Maybe it will give you an idea until Andrew or someone else can give you a better answer :)

Regards,
Anne H

Hi Anne,

I tried your link above, and it led to a map of Dunbarton, New Hampshire.

I found one old streetmap of Alexandria, from 1859, but could see no sign of a First Street. On a current map, there is First Avenue (parallel to Second Avenue and Third Avenue). I have not found any online maps of Alexandria between 1859 and current.

All the best,

Hi Andrew,

 That's funny  When I first brought the map up, I did see the one for NH, so I clicked on "Get Directions" and entered from Larbert, Stirling to 17 First St. Alexandria, Dunbarton....then it came up with the one in Scotland. Maybe I didn't copy the full link...or something like that :? No worries, I knew you would help :)

Regards,
Anne H

Cathy,

Being born and brought up in Alexandria, the only place would be First Avenue Bonhill. This would be new build in early 1920s

I used to live in First Ave. Bonhill when newly married.
Can't say I can recall a First St across in Alexandria.

Hi Cathy
There are some old maps of Alexandria on a site called Old Maps UK. There are 7 in total and two of them are for your dates. I had a quick look but it's quite a slow site when you're moving the maps about. Might be worth a look.
Hope this helps.

The site is www.old-maps.co.uk
Aw the best and happy huntin'
Roy.
