Many thanks to all who viewed the 1775 birth. As I explained it was his elusive parents I was after. It did not make any sense why his parents are named with the same four siblings in the IGI but no marriage. However, when I downloaded the OPR image I thought I was on to something with Jean's surname being RUFSEL, the old English spelling?
I downloaded Charles George's 1805 Will of Keith, Banff. some time ago, the first mentioned was the "Earl of Findtater & Seafields" (hard to read)and George left £500.00 to be paid to the Earl for the Farm purchased from him in 1792. This answered how these George "Millers" started. They then became "Landed Gentry" documented in Burke's
I was hoping to dig up the parents of this Charles George but this will be my final brick wall I suppose.
As usual finding an answer makes even more questions!

Re: James George's parents
Not the spelling this time, bit an old-fashoned way of writing a double-s - looks something like ƒs.Lizzie wrote:...I thought I was on to something with Jean's surname being RUFSEL, the old English spelling?
All the best,
