mytree software?

Post by JayPee » Wed Jun 29, 2005 6:42 pm

Someone I know (who is fairly computer illiterate) tells me that he uses an ancient program called "mytree" -- I don't know if there is a space in the name or not. I would love to gain access to his data, but he's never heard of GEDCOM ... and web-searches for "mytree" are not very helpful. (I didn't realize that I could send a living oak, pine, cedar, whatever kind of tree, by mail -- and why would I want to :!: :?: )

Has anyone here hear of or used this program? Can someone provide a pointer to a website? And (most important of all) is it likely to have an "Export GED and mail it to JayPee" button?

TIA,
- JayPee

Thanks Dennis, but I think this person is using a program resident on his computer, not one of the on-line tree-building packages. I'll keep poking around.
Thanks again,

Found this at www.famtech.com

Might be what you're looking for:

"Family for Windows or My Family Tree or My Tree"

"There are still people using these older versions of our software which were distributed under license by Ablesoft and Digital Systems Research. If you are one of those 'early users' and want to upgrade, contact us for upgrade instructions. Version 5 will Not read your data directly, you will need to get a copy of Version 3 to do the upgrade."

Regards,
Norman
