Looking for any desendants of my 4x G Grandparents. They married 25 September 1816 in Edinburgh, John was born somewhere in England abt 1791, Christian was born 20 July 1792 in Edinburgh.
They had the following children
James 1817 John 1819 Thomas 1821 Mary 1827 Izett 1831
Peter F. 1836.
In the 1841 census the family were living at 86 Abbeyhill,Edinburgh and John was described as Hat Manufacturer.
John's parents are unknown to me
Christian's parents were John Fergusson and Christian Grant
If anybody has further information on this couple or indeed their ancestors/descendants I'd love to hear from you.

Not sure how much information you already have, but I’ve often found that by searching for possible siblings I can get leads to other families. For your lot I had a quick look on the IGI and found the children of John Newton and Christian Ferguson that you mentioned – all baptised in Canongate or Edinburgh Parish – they are in batch C195006 (which I think is 1830 to 1852).
I also looked at the marriage of John Newton and Christian Ferguson which you say was 25/9/1816. If you click the link at the bottom of that page, it leads to all the marriages in the same batch – M119834 – when your 4 x gt grandparents married. This gives the names of six Newton males who married in Edinburgh Parish:-

You may already have tried this, and I apologise if I’m stating the obvious, but it might be worth your while having a look at the IGI to see if you can track any of them to link with your family. (Obviously the John at #4 is your one), but some of the others may be siblings. I’d be interested to see if that leads to the source of the name Izett – which is pretty unusual. I’ve done this kind of tracking with a number of my families and have been able to make some connections – I usually draw them out with paper and pencil though, cos I get confused!
You might then be able to trace them using Census indexes and/or trade directories.
Hope you have some success anyway.
