Hello, I am new to this site and this is my first post - hope I've got it in the right place.
I have been searching for ages for a relative of my husbands but don't know where to look now and I'm not used to Scottish ways!

John Taylor married a Janet Smith in 1805 in Dysart and they had a son George in 1806. They both died in Dysart in 1844. So far so good. However, I would love to know where John was born. One assumes Dysart, but can I find him....?????? .....No. If someone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Up to a certain amount, I am willing to buy any certificates needed. Thanks. :?

This looks like them in 1841. Unfortunately it show that John wasn't born at Fife.

Name: John Taylor
Age: 77
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1764
Gender: Male
Where born: Scotland

Civil Parish: Dysart
County: Fife
Address: Cropwynd
Occupation: Taylor
Parish Number: 426
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
Janet Taylor 74
John Taylor 77

Have you looked at the marriage entry in case it shows where John lived?

Regards,
Annette

Hi Annette, and many thanks for your reply. This could certainly be them. I got their marriage from igi so maybe I should ask via Scotlands people to see if there is anymore info. I understand though that there is usually very little info on the marriage certs from those days. Will keep trying. Thank you again. SN. :)
