Hello Hugh,
The Famous Barras market in Glasgow was founded in the early 1920s by Margaret "Maggie" Russell who was married to James McIver.
The McIver name is still to be seen on signboards above the market.

Hi Hugh,

I've just joined this site and read your thread. I have cousins who are also descendants of Samuel McIver. My aunt married Samuel Drysdale, who I believe was a grandson of Samuel McIver.

Hi Hugh,

Sorry I haven't been back to you on the McIver's. I haven't been able to contact my cousin for some time. Between her working shifts (she's a nurse) and the time difference(I'm 5 hours behind her), I just haven't managed to connect with her. I'll have a try tomorrow and see if I can get a hold of her. I Promise.
