Hi Biz,
Welcome to Talking Scot!![[talkingscot] [talkingscot]](./images/smilies/talkingscot.png)
You don't say exactly what you are looking for, but judging from your post title and the forum you chose to put it in, I am guessing that you are wondering about the occupation "soft goods hawker." Is this correct? I would guess that it would be a pedlar of clothing and other textiles, but I could be wrong.
As Wilma said, give us an idea of what you are looking for and what you have already found, so we can try to help.
All the best,
Sarah

Hi biz
If you've not done so already, looking at the family in the census may give a bit more background information. Have you checked to see if she left a will? Again, that might fill in more information, though not everyone left a will.
Best wishes
Lesley

The Barras were started in the 1920's by a Margaret Russell and her husband James McIver.
So I assume you are talking post 20's?
I've no idea what information there may be on traders from there, the Mitchell Library might be the best port of call. Though The police department might prove more fruitful for some 'traders' in the notorious Barras!!!!!!!
Though many were, and are, upright citizens - the authorities have always found plenty custom in and around it.
Who's marriage cert. do you have [Mother or daughter?] and what is the dates were are talking about.

If that's the same family Biz is refering to in the other thread [1880's] then it's unlikely that the Barras of Glasgow would have come into the picture.
Biz, it would help us help you if you put as much information in your posts as you can.
Lesley sugested checking the census records, have you done that? they can be found on Scotlandspeople [link above] and will help fill in some of the information about the family and their whereabouts and origins.
