Post by StewL » Mon Jul 18, 2005 9:00 am

Hello everyone

I have just uploaded a marriage document onto TS Gallery in the help deciphering section

http://talkingscot.com/gallery/displayi ... p?pos=-193

This is not my certificate,
I have uploaded it for that mysterious Nova Stotian. HeatherK ms Heather E Haldane.

Heather would appreciate any help with deciphering Isabella Carsons mothers maiden name.

Thank you all :D
Stewie

Hi Stew / Heather

My thoughts are: Euphemia Scott ms. Cairns (deceased)

I found two of their children on the online IGI
  • JAMES SCOTT - Christening: 27 NOV 1811 Hawick, Roxburgh, Scotland
ELIZABETH SCOTT - Christening: 16 MAR 1813 Hawick, Roxburgh, Scotland
Both of these are LDS submissions. No obvious sign of Isabella of c1814.

All the best,

Andrew Paterson

Agreed :!:

Just to make life interesting, there's a lovely wee curly ampersand, &, before the "Euphemia"

Thanks Davie I wasn't sure what that was and it was leaving me guessing. It's Euphemia's maiden name that was more confusing.

Greetin's
How interesting that wee certificate was.
I have David Haldane married to Margaret McNaughton in Glasgow in 1901.
And though not related to me, there was a James Haldane married to Elizabeth McNaughton in 1845.
And lots of McNt records from Roxburgh
Will see what I have on file for Mary, Andrew's mammy.
Awrabest
