Kingscavil, Linlithgow

To celebrate the kids going back to school yesterday my husband took me out for lunch, to the Park Bistro outside Linlithgow.
[I can recommend it !]

I had a look at their website and found it rather interesting:
http://www.theparkbistro.co.uk/the-rest ... urant.html

Apparently there was a thriving village nearby called KINGSCAVIL but it has now almost vanished.
Lost village of Kingscavil
Peter is a keen local historian, and is enjoying researching the nearby 'lost village' of Kingscavil.

Back in 1895 there were 112 houses, with 709 registered householders. The then village was once sited in one of the fields to the South East of the bistro on the farms land.

The village boasted 2 football teams, bowling club, school, church, police station, pub and a co-op.

Visitor centre and museum
Peter would love to open a small museum at the bistro to tell the story of Kingscavil - so if you have any forefathers who played football in the team that beat 'Heart of Midlothian' last century, was the village bobby or even the green keeper at the bowling club he would love to hear from you.

Any information, photos, or memorabilia you have he would love to speak with you about. Please contact him on ' peter at theparkbistro.co.uk ' address edited

The museum, which could possibly be the smallest in Scotland would be free of charge to enter - with a collection box for local charities should visitors wish to donate.

Any Talking Scotties able to help him?
