Hello Jan,

That’s a curly one. Exactly what sort of document did you find it on and what were the year and the location?

Could it be Picture Framer?

its not important , just wanted to see if everyone was awake lol ,
i did have a site that gave old occupation names and lost it , so cant check back now ,
dont put any effort into it , its not the end of the world

Hi Jan,

As the 1881 census images are now online at ScotlandsPeople, you should be able to see the original for yourself, and get past Ancestry's transcription problems.

All the best,

Guess

My guess without seeing the census image would be Message Boy Picture Framers
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

The 1881 census discs have him as Message Boy Picture Framer right enough.
