Hi all,

Im back again with another niggling query, in the hope that some kind people could help me....

I would like to know the parentage of Margaret Webster born abt 1811/13.
Margaret married George Webster Dorward and i would like to know whether they were cousins as the name Webster was used as middle names for some children.

Where was she botn? Have you found her in a census? That should give place of birth if you do not know it already.

Margaret married George Webster Dorward

When did they marry? Forfar area? (Dorward is a name from round there I think)
Did Margaret live until after 1855? If so her death should name her parents.

Hi Lesley,
Yes they were from Monifieth Forfar, they were married in 1840 and George died in 1859, Margaret in 1892.

What puzzles me more, is the fact they share the same name WEBSTER.

Entering Margaret Webster born 1811 +/- 5 years, born/Christened in Scotland gets many hits http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/ ... search.asp

There is a record of Margaret Webster and George Dorward's 1838 marriage and David Webster Dorward's birth 1840, so there may be items there you can follow-up, then verify on ScotlandsPeople.

they were married in 1840 and George died in 1859, Margaret in 1892

If you download their deaths from Scotland People, you should find that the parents names will have been given by the death informant.

I've been back to look at George and Margaret's 1840 marriage and there is no middle name associated with George (sorry, my error).
