Hello Wendy,

There don’t seem to be very many Daniel McLuskey’s in Glasgow and I think I read somewhere yours had a similar occupation. Does this fellow fit the picture?

Glasgow Herald, Saturday, May 16, 1896
Application for Cessio Bonorum (surrender of goods in relation to bankruptcy I think)

D. M’Luskey & Co., general dealers, 15 and 17 Armour Street, Glasgow, and Daniel M’Luskey, general dealer, 15 and 17 Armour Street there, an individual partner of the said D. M’Luskey & Co.—to be examined in Sheriff Strachan’s Chambers, County Buildings, Glasgow, 27th May, at a quarter before eleven o’clock.

This is also in the Edinburgh Gazette 15th May 1896 http://www.edinburgh-gazette.co.uk/issu ... /pages/476

The Glasgow Herald, Thursday, April 28, 1898, contains a report of a court case against Archibald Willis and John Martin, managers of the Central Union Club at 146 London Street, regarding the illegal sale of excisable liquors. They ended up being acquitted. One of the witnesses called was a Daniel M’Luskey.

“Daniel M’Luskey, dealer, said that he went to the club on the night of 10th April, along with William Doolan, but did not fill up any form. He could not write. Doolan paid for a bottle of beer for him. He went to see the club, as he thought of joining.”

If these are relevant and you want copies just send me a PM with an email address.

Hope that’s useful,
Alan
