George Gooderson 1866 & John Gooderson 1870

Post by Easty » Fri Aug 07, 2009 8:29 pm

Hello, I am hoping someone out there can help me with a query.

Having been a supporter of a Scottish Football team for many years (Stenhousemuir - long story...), I was pleased to find a Scottish link in my family tree. But is a bit of a mystery.
George Gooderson was born, according to both 1871 and 1911 census, in 1866 in Scotland. Bit vauge, but that's English census takers for you. He lived in Spalding, Lincolnshire in 1911, with wife and 5 children, all Lincolnshire born.
His father was Thomas Gooderson, born Lincolnshire 1842-ish. George and one brother, John Gooderson, both born in Scotland, (John 1870), but another brother Thomas W. born 1871 in Lincolnshire. So, I have no idea why two born in Scotland, then apparently the family came back down to Lincolnshire.
Could anyone inform if George & John appear on any Scottish birth records?
If so, what other information is available?

Thank You for your help.
