McFadzean variants

Post by Grendlsmother » Sun Oct 11, 2009 11:15 am

This might help other researchers. With the opening up of the Catholic archives I have found my ggxgrandmother McFadzean listed as McPhalen as well as the more expected McFadden and McFadyean. Also, for some inexplicable reason as McHay. All definitely the same woman with the right husband and children and all baptised at the same church!
Main lines: McCormick(mack); Connel; Others: McDonald; McFadzean; Brown; Kerr and many more

Congratulations on finding that one! So the moral of the story is you have to search for Mc?*a*

All the best,
Sarah

No, I'm not that clever - After I'd found one child (with the mother's correct maiden name), I selected the parish, put in the father's surname and first name, the mother's first name and the timescale I knew they were having children - it came up with all of them except one, who I can't find anywhere - the priest must have forgotten to write it down.
