Hi is anyone able to help regarding where a death would be registered? I have my ancestor's last known address as Clifford Street, SW1 Ibrox exchange for phone number, last registered in British Phone Book archives in 1957. I have searched around that time on SP for his death but there are so many James Morrison's listed I don't want to waste loads of credits and wondered if anyone could give me a clue as to where a death in that area would be registered. Also be interested for any other information that anyone may have on him. Prior to living in Clifford Street he lived in St. Andrews Drive, Glasgow. His full name was James Brown Paton Morrison. He was married to Elizabeth (Bessie) McVean who was born in Lochgilphead. I have no knowledge of any children. His occupation on 1901 census was Clerk in Procurator Fiscals Office.
Anything at all would be much appreciated.
Karen

Hi Karen,
If you search the deaths on ScotlandsPeople for James B P Morrison, there are only three between 1855 and 2006. Two are pre-1920. The third one looks to be a good likelihood.
One of the others looks like the infant son of the one you are seeking.
All the best,
AndrewP
