Greetings from NZ.
If direct descendants of the late Wallace JACKSON, formerly, 3 Millar Street, Hamilton Lanarkshire, choose to contact me, I can fill you in re your NZ cousins.
About the time of WWII, Wallace was in contact/correspondence with the late (1900 – 1982) Seymour McGregor SHARP, Cambridge NZ.
Contact via a PM, or direct to; herringbone at hnpl dot net
Alan SHARP.
PS. Today I have received a copy of a letter sent by Wallace to the THURSTON family in New Zealand, dated July 18, 1978, where Wallace observed:-
"I’m very happy that 155 years after John Sharp and Agnes Campbell were married the two families are still on friendly terms. It seems remarkable that (despite living at opposite ends of the earth for a century and despite losing touch for 50 years) in every generation since 1823 at least one member of each family has met one of his contemporaries in the other. "
PPS 16/10/2010. Recieved renewed SHARP contact by a CAMPBELL family related to the JACKSON family above.

Re: JACKSON’S; Hamilton Lanarkshire.
Greetings Anne.
A timely reminder that I should link this thread, to others I made late last year, when John CAMPBELL was introduced to me. He and a hand full of others, now known to me, all have one common ancester five generations back into Scotland.
I will put it on to my TO DO list, so that the info will be linked, should others come to the site by way of surmane searches.

Greetings - H/W the promised links, though I think there will be others re Wm RUSSELL, but my limited search ability means I get too many admin RUSSELL hits to find it/them, if not my original thread.
