RANKIN GRIMSHAW was a player in the Burntisland Shipyard football team in the early 1930s. He was better known as Raith Rovers chairman and also owner of “Brown's Bazaar”, a sports shop on Kirkcaldy High Street, and he went on to become the President of The Scottish Football Association.
I knew someone who, on hearing of each Raith Rovers' defeat, could be depended on to deliver the line "Aye, it was a rank and grim shaw, the day".
