The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
As i have found all deaths of the children belonging to william allison and margaret docherty. these new children are children of walter allison and isabella gilmour. i have no idea when he was born or when he died but the children stop after a certain time. isabella was born in 1806 and died in 1879. they were married in 1827 in barony. i think all of these children were bron in lochwinnoch, renfrew.
Jean Allison 1833
Mathew Allison 1837
Mathew Allison 1840
Helen Allison 1843
Margaret Allison 1845
it would be a great help if you could help me find these children. i have already got the william that should be inbetween jean and mathew. i have realised that sometimes they are now down as ALison instead of ALLison.

Re: The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
in 1861 Isabella is in Calton, Glasgow with Jane? Ellen? Margaret and Isabella
Jane, Ellen and Margaret are her daughter and Isabella is her grand daughter. all their ages match, if you take away their age from the year, the places they were bron are correct but its the name. i suppose jean can be mistaken as jane and helen as ellen but i am pretty sure that us them. william at this time would be with his own family but i dont no where robert john or mathew would be

Hi Gary,
Jean and Jane are regularly interchanged, as are Helen and Ellen, so no problem in accepting the names you found in the 1861 census.
All the best,
Andrew

Re: The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
i have been doing research on family search.org and there is a Ellen allison married in 1864 to ronald wotherspoon in bridgeton (this is where they were in 1861) and there is a helen allison ms wotherspoon that died in 1867 in huchesontown. i thought this could be her and it definatly is as they had one child called isabella gilmour wotherspoon so there is no douubt that it isnt her
same goes for margaret. she married john henederson in 1865 in bridgeton and she died in 1900 in huchesontown too. i thought the exact same thing as i thought for helen and it definatly is her as they had children such as :
robert allison henderson
walter allison henderson
isabella henderson
so it has to be her no doubt but the only thign is i dont have a catch on robert or jane/jean. these are the brickwalls for me

Re: The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
You've done well with Andrew's help finding the others so..........here is Jane in 1871.
258 Mathieson Street, Hutchesontown
Robert Kelpatrick 27
Jane Kelpatrick 37 born Lockwood (as transcribed)
Isabella Allison 15 Stepdaughter born Bridge of Weir
Hellen Allison Kelpatrick 2
Hugh Kelpatrick 1
I found them at Ancestry by looking for an Isabella (no surname)born 1856 at Bridge of Weir with a mother named Jane and living at Glasgow.
She is still alive and living at Motherwell in 1891 and 1901.
I'll leave you to find her what I'm sure is her death (practise makes perfect).........................remember to use the wildcards when searching!
Regards,
Annette

Re: The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
Hi Gary,
Robert of 1830 was with some of his siblings in the 1841 census. What looks like one of his brothers is a few doors away. No sign of either parent there. In 1851 five of the children are with their widowed mother. I see no obvious sign of Robert in the 1851 or 1861 censuses. As in 1851 he would have been 20 or 21 years old, he could easily have left home; or equally he could have died or emigrated.
I see no sign of an appropriate death in the OPR burials (up to 1854) or statutory death records (1855 onwards).
Without some other stroke of good fortune, I think you are going to have difficulty finding what became of him.
All the best,
AndrewP

Re: The Deaths Of The Allison Children (No2)
Hi Andrew and Gary,
Walter, Isabella and Jean are in Airdrie in 1841, where Walter is an Ag Lab. they are in the household of William Campbell & family. Also in the household is Andrew Gilmour age 20, a coal miner born in Lanarkshire. They are indexed (at least on Ancestry) as Aleson.
I saw wee Mathew age 1 in Lochwinnoch at Calderhaugh or Main or High Street, with a long list of people none of whom have the surname Allison or any variant thereof. Is he the brother a few doors away you were referring to Andrew?
Regards,
Sarah
