john Cairns b Ireland where did he go

I am looking for John Cairns b Ireland abt1852/4 Last cambusneathan Lanark1891 census with 2nd wife Mary nee STEVENSON and two children Janet Cairns b abt 1883 united states and John Cairns b abt 1884/5 usa. I cannot find a first marriage or the childrens births. His oldest brother William came to nz 1872. Johns parents were John Cairns,kilkinamurry co down ireland and his mother was Betty/betsy Jane ALLEN also b in Ireland. her parents were Samuel AlLEN andJane PARK. can anyone help thanks. sharn8

Hello and welcome to TS,

I assume, since you know quite a lot about the family, you have them on census records from 1861 onwards and it's what happened to John after 1891 you are trying to find?

How are you sure Janet and John are his children? Was he a widower when he married Mary?

I don't have access to passenger lists but hopefully somebody else will come along who does.

yes he was a widower when he married mary and the census said they were his children. I have looked up as much as possible thanks sharn8
