Finally tracked down a middle name!.....

Post by WilmaM » Wed Sep 14, 2005 7:55 pm

My grandmother's sister was named :

Hannah Larmour Jamieson McKinlay

Now, we knew that her Grandmother was Hannah Jamieson but the LARMOUR bit we just couldn't fathom at all! :-k Not a known name anywhere around the family or known associates.

Finally I've got it - turns out it was the maiden name of her GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER - Hannah Larmour and John Jamieson are the parent's named on Thomas Jamieson's Death cert. in 1910.

Now to work out who her sister - Elizabeth Jamieson LAMONT McKinlay is named after :?:

Hi Wilma,Glad you found where the middle name for your grandmother's sister came from.My great grandmother was Eleanor McDowall Queate.Turns out McDowell was the family her father worked as a gardener for.Go figure. Some of them can be real puzzles sometimes.
Best of luck with the rest of your hunt,
