find marriage
i am trying to find any information on elizabeth lees from ayr , she married john kelly 1942 ayr would i beable to find out what there parents names were on there marriage cert.

Hi Cathy,
Yes, both sets of parents (including mothers' maiden surnames) should be named on the marriage certificate. However, you won't be able to download the marriage certificate from http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk until 75 years has passed from the end of that year. So for a 1942 marriage, it will be 2018 before it is available to download.
There are other options rather than wait until 2018:

- you can order an official extract on ScotlandsPeople for £12 and it will be posted out to you,
- you can visit the ScotlandsPeople Centre (or one of its official outposts in Scotland) and view the certificate onscreen there,
- if you are unable to visit the SP Centre, you can appeal here for if someone is visiting there, for them to find the info for you.
