George Philips, taylor (tailor) b Edinburgh c1750
In the old parochial records a marriage took place between my 4 x grt grandfather, Daniel Laferty and Janet Philips on 16 April 1810 in Canongate, Edinburgh. It shows Janet's father is George Philips, taylor (tailor). No more information other than what I have so does anyone have any further information on the families of Lafertys and Philips around that time
please?

Have you looked for Janet's death record?
If she lived to 1855 or later her death cert will show her parents names - possible as she could be in her 60/70s
Do watch out for spelling though - there are several versions both those surnames could appear as.
Or her birth record in the OPRs , a look at any census record could give you an idea where to look.
Again if she live beyond 1841.
