Hi
I am trying to research my Grandmother - Catherine Byfield Keavney (Nee Clarke). She was born in 191x in Edinburgh and married John Keavney in 193x, also in Edinburgh. She had 3 children with John however, I think she may have had another child xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx . She may have changed her name back to Clarke and also she may have moved.... if anyone can help or let me know where to start looking I would be very grateful.
Thanks
Natasha

Re: Catherine Byfield Keavney (Clarke)
There is a death of a Catherine Keavney other name Clarke showing up on Scotlands People
in 1975.
Her age is showing as a bit younger than a 191x birth - but that's not very unusual.
You can't view it on-line [outwith the 50 year limit] but you can if you visit Edinburgh or somewhere else in person.
The death seems to be in Edinburgh - so maybe a death notice was in a paper?

Thanks WilmaM.
I have my Grandmothers death certificate and the dates are slightly wrong, but as you say, its not unheard of. Do you know where I would start looking if she had anymore children etc?

Going forward is always much harder than going back - esp when we are now talking of potentially living persons.
For a start, who is the informant on the Death certificate? husband, son or somebody else?
Looking for a death notice may help or finding her gravestone.
Sorry not much help.
