Elizabeth Rodger - Who was her niece ?

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with this one.

I've recently found a sibling of my hubby's 2 x great grandfather William Rodger, named Elizabeth Pettigrew neè Rodger who died on 9 May 1873 in Mason St, Glasgow. Her niece called Mary Anderson signed her death cert, and I'm trying to find out if Elizabeth had more siblings.

Her husband William died in 1874. As far as I know, they didn't have any children.

I can't seem to to find her in 1841 or the 1871 census. She married in 1834 in Old Monklands.

I know she had a sister called Agnes Rodger, who pre-deceased her in 1870 but can't find out if Agnes ever married or had children. She lived with Elizabeth & William in central Glasgow.

William her brother died in 1880 in Govanhill, Glasgow, and only one of his children went on to marry and have a family.

Elizabeth, William, & Agnes were born in Bothwell, to William Rodger & Mary neè Rodger circa 1790-1800.

Can anyone help ?

Given Elizabeth's age on marriage to William Pettigrew, I think you have to consider that she may have been married before and already had children.

On 1861 census - 43 Castle St, Central District, Glasgow

It looks like Robert Allan & Mary Pollock are the parents of Elizabeth and Alex Allan, grandchildren to either William or Elizabeth. I found Mary Allan's death's cert
but it states she was married twice 1st to James Thomson & 2nd Robert Allan. Her maiden name was Grove, not Pollock.
I see there is an Agnes Rodger living with them, but don't know who her parents are. I wonder if John Anderson is related to Mary Anderson ?
