My gggg gm was Janet McLachlan b. abt. 1786 in Antrim, Ireland and died before 1877 in Elderslie, Scotland. Janet was married to John Morning and they lived on Graham Street in Johnstone, according to the 1851 Census.

you will find Janet's birth in 1895. This will give you the date and place of the marriage of her parents. That marriage register entry will give the names of Janet's grandparents, and there's a reasonable chance that it will be possible to foind the marriage register entries of those sets of The grandparents which will take you back to Janet's ggrandparents.

The 1901 census entries will also assist you with the places of birth of Janet's parents.

Beware, however, surname spelling variations, and alternative given names.
