Hi folks
I understand that the Mitchell Library holds newspaper achives. I'm particularly looking for an obituary for John Jeffrey in 1848

Could SKS who has a few minutes (or so ) to spare check and see if there is one for this funeral please. I need to know if this John Jeffrey is my John Jeffrey and am hoping other family names are mentioned.

Name of deceased:John Jeffery
Address to collect the deceased, 49 Windsor Terrace,
Location of grave:Highchurch
Date/time of burial:14/12/1848 at 1pm.

Hello Sylvia,

I was at The Mitchell today looking at some poorhouse applications and although I remembered your query I looked at the wrong date.
I will look again next time but according to what I saw today it does not look promising that an obituary is going to give you any more info.
I had a look at the OPR High Church deaths on film but could not find him - that doesn't mean it isn't there - I found it hard to read.

I have written to the Mitchell as Catriona has suggested, but I'm really not holding out much hope...this really is a longshot, and maybe I will never know for sure
