I may have misled people on this thread about searching in Ireland. Sorry!
There have been some changes in the GRO of which I was unaware, so go to www.groireland.ie for up to date information. The site mentions that they will be moving office - they have done but haven't updated the website. don't worry if you have written to the Dublin office as they maintain an office and the reading room there still.Hope I haven't unnecessarily complicated an already dreadful process.
