Scobbie information please?.....

Post by Omnipeta » Sat Dec 03, 2005 6:29 pm

New to the board. I'd be most grateful if anyone can give me information on my grandfather Andrew Scobbie who married Agnes Morrow about 1903. My g/father was a train driver in Falkirk I believe. He had 5 sons, Andrew (my late father) William, James, John and Alexander (Sandy) and 2 daughters, Margaret (Reta) and Agnes. Anything on my g/mothers family would also be appreciated.
My late father worked down the pit, also at local gas works before moving to Ashington colliery in 1955, then to Coventry in 1960.
I was born in Falkirk 1950, lived on Redding road, Westquarter, now live in Coventry. Any info no matter how small greatly appreciated.
Thank you, John.

The marriage record that you are looking for is just waiting to be found on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ............

That will lead you to an earlier marriage of one set of parents in Scotland, but it looks like the other set of parents were married in Ireland, - check for the information on the place of marriage of the parents shown on the birth register entry.

Omnipeta,
Welcome to TS. Having nothing better to do and a few spare credits on SP I did a search and retrieve for you, I have the downloaded:

Marriage Cert for Andrew and Agnes.
Birth Cert for Andrew.
Birth Cert for Agnes.

You have no Email in you profile but if you Email me I will send them to you.

There a rich source off info on these, if you then join SP you will be able to continue your research from these.

Omnipeta,
Take a chance on me (ABBA Circa 1970) :D

I still have the certificates that I downloaded for you. I would post them to the gallery for you, but the size precludes this. I cant send them by private message since I would need have a link page. You either trust me with your email address or I cant send them.

I will dump them in 7 days if I do not hear from you :(

IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE ABOVE I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE METHOD ](*,)

The Admin Group of TS would prefer that these particular images are not posted in the TS GAllery as, strictly speaking, since the explicit objective is to give them to someone else, it's a breach of copyright.

What you do, however, by email, is your business xmas:razz:

Postings images as examples of a situation, or for assistance in interpretation is unlikely, on the other hand, to be of concern to GROS.
