Beattie v Copland.....

Post by Baldy » Fri Dec 23, 2005 3:35 am

Hi Jack & Isobel.
The family that you have listed in the 1851 census at Barrand is the family that I am researching.I did have the marriage of William & Janet Beattie, further to William,I have been informed the William was illegitimate,as on the birth information that was passed on to me it shows father as Beatie. Then on the marriage of William it shows the name as Beattie !!!.

I have NEVER been able to locate any Clarence for this family, but, have also been informed that Clarence is actually James,in the 1851 census it shows Jane (son) of William ????

I aslo see that Isobel has given the name Coupland, this is one name that I originally was looking at,but for some reason decided that it was not the one in question,so I continued with Copland:-MAYBE, there is a connection & is the same family,And I should be looking at ALL spellings

Many thanks for the information about this family

Ted

Hello Ted

Jack & Isobel may have missed this message due to the holiday rush. Perhaps you may want to send them a private message as a reminder.
