Hi All
I have a Catherine MacInnes marr Donald MacInnes. Their ggf was the same person. According to my records they married 10 Feb 1824 in Skye. All my MacInneses down to my ggm (who came to NZ) lived in Inverness - Sleat and Strath. Donalds father was Calum Mor MacInnes of Heast and Catherines father was Myles MacInnes of Drumfearn. It is said that Myles fought at Waterloo but others working with this line disagree so it certainly isn't confirmed.
I would like to try to confirm the parents of the above but am not sure what census are available. If there is one pre 1824 for Scotland then maybe it would confirm their parents. I have listed what I know of their siblings and children below but these have not been confirmed. Any information before or after their marriage would be appreciated.
Siblings:
Catherine - Neil (there were others)
Donald - Merion (again there were others)
Children:
Duncan, Alexander, Myles, Edward John (my gggf marr Fanny Elizabeth Millbourne), Malcolm, Margaret
Please let me know if you need any more info and thanks in advance for any help.
McInnes / MacInnes.....

Hi Catriona
The first one could be Donald and Catherines son. Their son Myles was born in 1835 so a marriage date of 1859 is very possible. Given that Myles is a common name I can't be sure.
Is it possible that Catherine and Donald would show up on the census. They married in 1824 and as far as I know never left inverness. I might go the one of the LDS FHCs and have a look at the census records.
Thanks
