Donegal Mc(G)rorys and the Paisley Connection .....

Post by pmcrory » Wed Feb 08, 2006 8:51 am

My family comes from the Inishowen area of Co Donegal, but I know that at some stage - possibly around the beginning of the 20th Century - we made it across to the Paisley and Glasgow area in Scotland. I'm really keen to get in touch with any McGrorys (or McRorys) who are similarly looking the other way for information. I have extensive deatils on my branch of the family, as we were in the Dunree area (near Buncrana) of Donegal. Linked surnames also McLAUGHLIN, HAGAN, DOHERTY, RODDEN. Many thanks. Paul McRory

Hi Paul
..and a very warm welcome to Talking Scot.
I don't have any connection to your McGrory family but I just wondered if you had tried looking for living relatives on the Genes Reunited web site? Might be worth a try.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Leslay,

Thanks for the reply. I have indeed posted on GR, and had a few small successes: unfortunately nothing to do with the Scottish connection though. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist with this aspect of my quest.

Paul
