Hello all,
Can anyone help with this location and some information regrding the town. My aunt told me my grandfather was born in Ferguslie just outside of Paisley in 1894, is this the same place as Feguslie Park?

Ferguslie
It might be or then again..! That is to say there is an area in Paisley called Ferguslie Park but there is also a main road called Ferguslie which lies as you leave Paisley and head for Elderslie. It is over the railway from Ferguslie Park.
I have relatives who were in various houses there late 1890/early 1900. It mainly consisted of multi occupancy tenement buildings and some of the ones numbered 120 ish are still there. If you look on multimap.com for Paisley then pan west (left) til you see an area called Millarston you can see a road called Ferguslie.
Hope this helps!

Ferguslie Park is a relatively new housing area (built mid 20th century) previous this area was parkland and the estates of amongst others the Clarks who were Mill owners. There were several farms in this area especialy along the Blackstoun Road area
In the time since the first houses were built its name has become linked with many less than wholesome activities.
Ferguslie (or as it is known locally Main Road Ferguslie) is a street which stretches from Broomland Street westwards to Main Road Elderslie.
Have a look at http://www.nls.uk/digitallibrary/map/to ... isley.html which shows the ordnance survey map of paisley for 1858 square XII 2.21 contains ferguslie
