Many thanks Lesley for the warm welcome to the group.

I am sorry as I I never found any of my Love family living or dwelling in Stewarton. Doesn't certainly mean that some didn't, so have added your
information to the Love data base. I appreciate the contact very much.

Best regards,
Linda Bell

SearcherUK -- As a fellow Canuck, let me welcome you too! (Not too shabby a showing at the winter Olympics, eh?)

I was tempted to break into the chant "Lesley, Lesley he's our man. If she can't help you -- no-one can!" -- But that doesn't quite fit. :D

Anyway, you've come to the right place in your quest for missing family members. Believe me I know from personal experience, whereof I speak. The people here are unbelievably helpful -- and I've only been a member for a few days myself!

Welcome again, and come back often!

Hello Tusker!
Thank you for the welcome, and yes we can be very proud of our Canadian athletes ! =D> Not the "Cunucks" so much, darn it, eh!

Yes, this is an amazing group and see many familiar names in the members. I am already enjoying the forum very much and have checked in each day to see what's what.

Thanks again for the note, appreciate it very much.

Hello Linda,

I noticed that you are researching the name Frew. My research in Ayrshire began in Beith with the names of Stewart and Wilson. There are a number of Loves and Kerrs in Beith. The name I am currently having trouble with is the name Frew. I have a Archibald Stuart (most often spelled Stewart) marrying Ann Frew. They were married 1 June 1799 in Beith. However, I don't see that either one was born there. I find some likely IGI Ann Frews in that time period:
Ann Frew b. 12 Nov 1780 Kilwinning, Ayr Parents: Francis Frew and Margaret Hanna
Ann Frew b. Dec 1773 Kilwinning, Ayr Parents: William Frew and Jean or Jane Richmond
Anne Frew b Dec 1778 Dalry Parents: John Frew and ?

Do you know anything about these families? I don't find any in the right time period in the Free Cen. either - probably deceased by then.

I also have several Archibald Stewarts to choose from as well. That is even harder with 5 or 6 choices from the SCR cd.

I do have the Beith church records at the LDS center if you want me to look for anyone there.

Thanks,
Barbara

Hi Alex,
It's me, your cousin Linda!!

I just looked at your posts to be sure it was you. I have no new leads into our Irish Ayrshire families, but always on the lookout for a new development. Will be in touch. :!:

Cheers from Linda, also cousin of Bonnie :P

Hi Linda,

I've lost your email address, my hard drive suffered a terrible misfortune and I had to get a new one.

I've also lost all the poor law stuff I scanned, *hint hint*
