My gg grandad died in 1891. He has been found under many names; ranging from John Cormick Jordon to Cormick Gordon and on his death Cormick Jardine. On two census he once appeared as English and then the other one Irish. He married Elisabeth ( betsy) Shaw (but I have yet to get the marriage certificate) in England , on June 28th 1858.One son was born in England, the others in Bothwell Lanark .
On his death he was listed as an Army pensioner, I have tried various names with no joy on the archive site. How long did they have to serve before they recieved a pension , and are there any records to be found about pensions in Scotland.
Army Pensioner (maybe).....

Hi
Not all Pensioners are listed by name on the National Archives site. I found the 3x great grandfather of my children, who was not so listed, for about the same era as the one you're looking for. You would however find it hard to find him if you did not know his regiment.
As far as I'm aware all such records are in the National Archives in London.
