Findlay/Rea, Coupar Angus.....

I have recently restarted researching my family history after a break of a few months and thought I'd try to demolish a few brick walls that have been driving me mad over the years. Unfortunately there are a few people that I just cannot find, no matter how many name/spelling combinations, etc I try and I wondered if anyone here would be able to help?

I have a Marjory/May Findlay born in Coupar Angus c1836 (age from censuses and MC) who married a Hugh Gallacher. She was widowed by 1872 and I eventually found who I think is her in the 1881 census living with her cousin William Cameron (and family) in Liff and Benvie, Forfar. On her daughter's MC in 1883 she is still alive (I assume as it doesn't say deceased) and that is the last of her I can find. I haven't been able to find her in any later censuses and what is really driving me mad is that I can't find her death certificate. On her MC it has her mother as Elizabeth Rae (in 1861 census it is Rea) and father William Findlay, shoemaker. I also am unable to find any trace of Elizabeth after the mention of her on Marjory's MC in 1863 when she is still alive. I found both her and Marjory on the 1861 census in Coupar Angus, which has her as being born c1815 in Coupar Angus. It also has her as being unmarried with no trace of William, Marjory's father, on the census. Basically I am mainly looking for both Marjory and her mother Elizabeth's death certificates as I have been looking for literally years and have nothing. If anyone can help with this I would be very, very grateful.

I'm afraid I can offer no help at all.

From the IGI I see Marion Findlay married Hugh Gallacher in Clyde, Glasgow in 1863.
I can see Hugh Gallacher and Marjory Findlay had:
John Banks Findlay 1867 Coupar Angus
William Findlay 1869 and his twin
Hugh Findlay 1869 Coupar Angus.

The only one I can find on the 1881 census appears to be John in an industrial school in Perth. I think Hugh Died in 1869 but I can't find William.
Is this correct the family?

There is also a birth of James Findlay 1866 in Coupar Angus to Hugh Gallacher and Marion Findlay.
In 1872 Coupar Angus there is William Finlay born to a Hugh Gallacher and May Findlay.

I cannot find any Elizabeth. What are her birth details?

Thanks for your reply . Yes that is the right family, I forgot to mention May/Marjory also goes by the name of Marion - sorry for any confusion there. So far for this family I have:-

Hugh Gallacher m Marion Findlay 1863 Glasgow (parents James Gallacher & Mary O'Hara / William Findlay & Elizabeth Rae/Rea)
Mary Ann Elizabeth Gallacher (Elizabeth on censuses and children's bcs, etc), born 1863 Glasgow, died 1928 Dundee
James Gallacher born 1866 Coupar Angus, died 1866 Coupar Angus
John Banks Gallacher born 1867 Coupar Angus
Hugh Gallacher born 1869 Coupar Angus, died 1869 Coupar Angus
William Gallacher born 1869 Coupar Angus, died 1870 Coupar Angus
Another William Gallacher born 1872 Coupar Angus, died 1872 Coupar Angus.

Marjory also had another son Robert Findlay but no father on his bc. On 1861 census he is said to be her mother's son Robert Cowie. Don't know where the name Cowie is from, probably his dad but he didn't acknowledge him. He was born in 1860, Coupar Angus and died 1862 also in Coupar Angus. Out of 7 children only two survived past childhood - quite sad. I have Elizabeth Gallocher (different spelling) aged 18 as a boarder in Blairgowrie in the 1881 census. Took me a while to find that one too! She eventually married here and had children whose details I have.
