GROS's annual report for 2004/2005 is fascinating in that it reports that the income, - not clear if net or gross, - from ScotlandsPeople was in excess of £1.7m.
That's on top of "in excess of £1m" for the 2003/2004 fiscal year.
It's far from clear if these figures take into account greatly increased income from orders for £8 BMD register "extracts", - I think not !!
Sooooo.. taking into account the GROS income from ScotlandsPeople, and Scots Origins before that, it would appear to me that this income alone has more than paid of the costs of the whole DIGROS Project, despite the fact that it was always the case that GROS had their own reasons for launching the DIGROS project and partially funding it from other sources.
Also note, quite remarkable in fact, is that, in fiscal 2004/2005, GROS underspent their over £7m expenditure budget by over £1.4m
It could have been neat if this underspend could have been used to ensure better delivery of long since promised new data on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk , or am I being overly cynical
