Can anyone tell me when Great Gran passed away?
Her name was Agnes Meikle Moore born 1904. She married David Wilson Dickson in St Giles - Midlothian in 1920. They separated Agnes may have lived with another chap by the surname or Bates or Betts?
Agnes' parents were Arthur Moore (Born 1869) and Mary Conway (Born around 1874) possibly of Irish decent.
David followed his son and wife to Australia in the 1950's. David passed away in 1964.
Any further information would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Donna

There's no record of the death of an Agnes Meikle MOOR[E] up to 1955, but she would have only been 51 in that year.
You need to get someone to check the records for 1956 onwards at New Register House for you.
Arthur and Mary were indeed married in Scotland, but only one of them was born in Ireland according to the 1901 census for their family, which shows 5 siblings of Agnes.

Hello David
Any chance you could pass that census information on please - I've obviously missed it somewhere?
Is there a way obituary records can be checked through online newspaper sites?
Grand dad's sister Georgina Dickson was still alive in the 1980's, I belive she was born in 1926. I'm curious as to whether she's still alive today?
Regards

See PM. I found it by assuming that there would be a son called Arthur!dmd1164 wrote:Hello David

Only The Scotsman so far.dmd1164 wrote:Is there a way obituary records can be checked through online newspaper sites?
Every possibility as that would make her just 80. Straightforward to check for a death at NRH, but remember that the lack of any such record only means that there isn't such in Scotland!dmd1164 wrote:Grand dad's sister Georgina Dickson was still alive in the 1980's, I believe she was born in 1926.
