Acrobat Reader

Post by Bertha » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:08 pm

Hi
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my Acrobatic Reader, after I view a document using it, it closes down Internet Explorer.
I don't use this for SP but sometimes (like last night), people put a link on the forum that uses this and its getting frustrating it closing everything down usually when I've come across something exciting. This happens whenever I use Acrobat not just on TS.
Many thanks
Bertha

Something not right there !

When did you last run a virus check?

You may have to de-install and re-install Adobe Acrobat.............

Hi Bertha
Is it maybe the Acrobat plug-in which is launching to enable you to view an acrobat document in your browser window? To get back to the web page before, you would use the back button (usually a backwards pointing arrow) on the browser toolbar when you had finished looking at the acrobat document.

Best wishes
Lesley

David
Computer checks for viruses several times a day and updates regularly

Lesley
Back button there but not highlighted but have decided to minimise document which will then enable me to continue and will close down when I swithch off later. Wonder I never thought of that before!

Tracey
Not sure which version but did delete then uploaded most recent from Acrobat. Still no different.
Thanks to you all for your input
Regards
Bertha

If you check under preferences in Adobe reader (Control + K) there is an option under Internet to have the pdf displayed within the browser ... make sure this box is ticked otherwise adobe reader tries to take over completely the job of displaying the pdf file which could be causing the problem you describe
