Hi I am new here,
I have my kids 5th Great grandfather.
William Hutcheson born 18.5.1786 Leuchars, Fifeshire.
His parents are James Hutcheson and Elizabeth Graham, trying to find out more about them as all I know is that they were born in Scotland so any info anyone can find will be greatly appreciated..
Kind regards
Ian in Plymouth, Devon
Trying to find details on my kids 6th Great-grandparents....

Hi Ian
...and a warm welcome to Talking Scot
Have you had a look at the OPR entry for the birth of your William? There is always a chance that there might just be some little piece of extra information in there, such as the father's occupation, or the place of residence - that's if you are lucky! Often there is no more information that you can see on the IGI.
If you are not planning a visit to Scotland you can order an OPR film from your local LDS centre for a small fee (I think its just gone up - maybe about £3 now?)
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi there Ian
I presume you've got the marriage of James and Elizabeth/Betty? Had 3 spare credits to use up - wonder if this is them?

Couldn't see any other children.

Thank you Liz and Lesley
I will keep all this info on file as you never know. It is quite puzzling.
I am led to believe by the X mother in law that Elizabeth Graham is linked to the Graham line and is possibly descended from Robert The Bruce.
I would love to prove it one way or the other. Simply because my two children would have a very famous 18th or 19th Great grandparents indeed.
Once again thank you both for your time in replying to my post.
Kind regards Ian
