Hi Liz
So far I have gotten back on IGI & SP as far as Andrew's grandparents John Smith and Elizabeth Farmer and Janet's maternal grandparents John Campbell & Janet, but have hit a dead end on her father James Smith.
Regards
Vickie

Hi, I thought I had found another branch of the family when I saw your post, I to am decended from an Andrew Smith a collier in Halbeath, but his wife was Elizabeth Black.

Here is my web site where you can see my family tree, my family left Halbeath and moved to the south side of the river forth, where I stll live today.

Hi Bob
..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot :D
There are certainly plenty folk here with Smiths in their tree!! My Smiths are from Easter Ross, and possibly Croy before that, so no obvious connection to yours there. They eventually ended up in Edinburgh with one making it as far as the North Riding of Yorkshire.

Best wishes
Lesley
