I am looking for connections to my Smiths.
Andrew SMITH was born Halbeath 1824 to John SMITH and Elizabeth EWEN, whowere married 1805 in Dunfermline, John's parents were John SMITH andElizabeth FARMER.
Andrew SMITH married Janet SMITH 1846 Dunfermline, Janet was born 1823 to James SMITH and Christian CAMPBELL who married in Halbeath 1823.
Other names associated with these families are:
Janet WALKER, Euphane CHRISTIE, John FARMER, Andrew EWEN, Christian LEETCH
Andrew LEETCH, Janet FINLAY, Marice FINLAY , Elizabeth DUFF, William McEWEN

Smith's O Halbeath
Hi, I thought I had found another branch of the family when I saw your post, I to am decended from an Andrew Smith a collier in Halbeath, but his wife was Elizabeth Black.

..and a warm welcome to Talking Scot
There are certainly plenty folk here with Smiths in their tree!! My Smiths are from Easter Ross, and possibly Croy before that, so no obvious connection to yours there. They eventually ended up in Edinburgh with one making it as far as the North Riding of Yorkshire.
