Could someone tell me what maps to buy. I want a map of Lanarkshire showing Sykeside, Dykehead, Cadder and Gorbals. Also a map of Perthshire showing Inchture and Longforgan. I do not understand the map web sites and have not been able to find what I want. If someone will tell me what to buy and from which site I will just order it. Thanks,
Alice

Hi Alice,
Have you tried www.old-maps.co.uk? I think they cover Scotland as well as England. You just type in the place you want to look at and an image of the area will appear. To see it more clearly you have to go for the enlarged view. It is also possible to print off the image if you have a printer that prints to A3 paper, or you can order a print from the site. Most of the maps seem to be late 19th century. There is also a facility to check the old map against its present-day equivalent.
