how do i look for a 1914 birth cert.....

please help someone, i am used to looking at english records which allow me to search into the 1990's however scotlandspeople starts from 1901, the ancestor i'm looking for was born in 1914 he does not appear in the english records, his mother was scots but i've no idea which area. any help would be brill. thanks jan

You need to visit New Register House in Edinburgh, or one of the centres around Scotland that can access the indexes not on-line or get someone to do so on your behalf ................ (I'm unclear at the moment if there's still access from the Family History Centre in London - can anyone comment?)
