Re Robert Law
Lesley,
My g/father Robert Law was born in 1886 in Bothwell and when he married in 1910 he was an Iron Worker. He then moved from Bellshill where he was brought up to Springburn with his new wife. His father James (also an Iron Worker) in Aberdeen b.c. 1850 and his mother Catherine Gentleman Ferguson on 26/11/1850. The rest of his siblings were born between 1871 and 1890.

Hi Dusty
Working form the 1881 above which Jean has given you, it might be worthwhile tracking the family forward to the 1891, by which time your Robert will be born, but also backwards to 1871 when it looks like young Ann should be around. If you look for Ann's birth you should find an address for where they were living in Glasgow at that time.
best wishes

Re: My Grandfather Robert Law's family.....
Hello Lesley,
Just wondering about the lineage of your ggf James Law. Was he the son of James Law (b. @1810) and Ann Thomson? My gggf was John Law, from the aforementioned parents, and could have been eldest brother to your ggf. My gggf moved to Canada and opened an iron foundry in Ottawa. His father, James, owned a foundry or foundries in Glasgow area, so the professions are consistent. I have the children of James Law and Ann Thomson as being John, Archibald, Isobel, Ann and your James. The elder James then remarried to Jane Jack and their children were William, Alick, Robert and Margaret.
